Welcome to Sustainable Waikato

WHO ARE WE?

We are a group of Waikato citizens, from all walks of life and political persuasions. We wish to advocate for and endorse suitable candidates in elections at local, regional and national levels, who align with the principles and practices of sustainability.

WHAT IS OUR MISSION?

Our mission is to ensure we get the elected representatives that the city and the region deserve, representatives who are not single issue focussed. We want elected representatives who can assess a range of issues rationally and make decisions based on sound evidence, enhancing our region and nation’s sustainability in the near and intergenerational future.

ASSESSMENT OF CANDIDATES

Sustainable Waikato is undertaking an assessment of candidates and policies of the key parties for the upcoming general election. Our party assessment is complete - to view click here. As in the past, we will undertake a rigorous assessment of policies, and invite candidates to complete questionnaires. This will assist voters in the Waikato Region to help select the candidates and parties best aligned with our organisational principles.
